We are often asked how we can form such strong communities year after year.  It all begins with mature, skilled adults who love being with teenagers.  Each summer 60-75% of our staff return, and many are Longacre alums.  Most are graduate students, returned Peace Corps Volunteers, outdoor educators or teachers.  Our staff are experienced carpenters, horseback riders, climbers, and cavers who provide participants with thorough instruction to ensure their safety.

Each staff member is at least twenty-one years old and must possess current certifications in Standard First Aid and Adult CPR.
